01 Dec Jet had a go at dressage
Jet has been going really well and I thought it was time to get him out there competing.
So we went to a little evening dressage competition. He did super well and I’m so proud of him!
He was very well behaved overall and didn’t mind the other horses in the warm-up either. It was already dark outside but we are used to it because I ride him in the evenings when it’s dark with lights on quite often and he is used to it.
Jet was worried about going to the indoor school though but didn’t even think about not going in. I don’t know if he has ever been indoors before. He was also worried about the boards and dressage letters and the judge’s box etc. But he hasn’t got the experience and it’s all new to him so we can’t blame him at all for that. He definitely did his best and never argued about anything. He is so genuine and really wants to please. I couldn’t be happier with him.
He won the walk and trot test with 73.9% So happy!
Next time we will have a go at prelim and show off the great canter that he does. Some people seem to think that hackneys can’t canter or at least not very well. I’m sure Jet is going to prove them wrong!
